Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how KanbanFlow ("the Visual", "we", "our") handles data when you use the KanbanFlow custom visual within Microsoft Power BI. We are committed to being transparent about what data is processed, where it goes, and what we do not collect.
2. What data the visual processes
KanbanFlow renders data that you, the report author, provide via the Power BI data model. This data is displayed only — rendered visually inside your Power BI report — and is never transmitted to any server operated by KanbanFlow or its publisher. The visual runs as client-side JavaScript within the Power BI host. Your data stays within your Power BI session and your organisation's data boundary.
3. Notes write-back feature
The optional notes write-back feature sends data from your browser directly to a URL you configure — specifically, a Microsoft Power Automate HTTP trigger URL that you provide in the Format pane.
- What is sent: the event ID and the note text you type, in a JSON POST request
- Where it goes: the URL you configure — typically a Power Automate flow in your own Microsoft 365 tenant
- Who controls it: you, the report author. KanbanFlow does not operate or have access to that endpoint
- We receive nothing. No copy of the note or event ID is sent to us
If you do not configure a flow URL, no network requests are made by the visual.
4. License key
When you enter a license key in the Format pane, it is validated entirely client-side using a mathematical function embedded in the visual. No outbound network request is made. The key is stored in your Power BI report's format settings, within your Power BI workspace. We do not receive, log, or transmit your license key.
5. What we do not collect
KanbanFlow does not collect telemetry, usage statistics, or analytics from the visual; track which reports use the visual; transmit your data to any server; use cookies or local storage within the visual; or access your Power BI identity, Microsoft 365 account, or tenant information.
6. License purchase
When you purchase a KanbanFlow license through our website or Gumroad: your payment details are processed by Gumroad — not by us directly; we receive your email address and order confirmation in order to generate and deliver your license key; your email address is used solely to deliver your license key and is not added to marketing lists without your consent; we retain purchase records for legal and tax purposes in accordance with Dutch law.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access personal data we hold about you (limited to purchase email); correct inaccurate personal data; request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations); object to processing for marketing purposes; and lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@ectrics.com.
8. Data retention
Purchase records (email, order ID) are retained for 7 years per Dutch tax law. We do not store which license keys were generated or to whom they were issued.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of KanbanFlow after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
